About Radius

Hi, I'm Minh (Mikey), a tech savvy looking for something interesting to work with,

Radius was born from a short conversation through Instagram with my friend Trang (chanceho). She is an Airbnb host who wanted to offer her guests more than just a place to stay, and I have freetime during my PMP certification exam preps. With her Master's Degree in Data Analytics in Georgia Tech, Trang shared the algorithm with scoring logic that weighs ratings, reviews, and proximity. Meanwhile, the engineering side — infrastructure, backend, and frontend — was solo built by me (and thanks to Claude AI as my co-worker).

Radius is a lightweight, self-hosted travel planning tool powered by real crowd-sourced data. It analyses thousands of venue reviews to intelligently suggest a route between any two points — or radiating outward from wherever you stand. The entire stack runs on my home server, currently with 5 CTs for frontend, backend, database, calculation engine, caching; and 1 VM for Apache Superset.
